Your First Visit...
When you arrive for your first appointment, your massage therapist will ask you to fill out a form describing your current physical condition, medical history, lifestyle, stress level, and any areas of pain, etc.
You’ll be asked to undress in a private treatment room. You will then lie down on a comfortably padded massage table with a heating pad and blanket. Only that part of the body being worked will be uncovered, and your modesty is respected at all times.
Each treatment room has soft lighting and relaxing music to create a peaceful environment. Your only responsibility during the massage is to give your therapist accurate health information and to report discomfort of any kind, whether from body, room temperature, volume of music, or other distractions. You should relax and enjoy as this time is yours.
The therapeutic effects of massage are cumulative. From one session to the next, you are able to relax more and more as chronic patterns of stress in the body are released. These changes are readily felt in your day-to-day life, as well.
